Finally I get to know his name!

He's Kuranosuke Koibuchi, the second child of a political family.For all you know he's a crossdresser,  but he has reasons to be like that.

Kuragehime - Episode 1-2

"This show sucks"

...is what I've wanted to say at the first, considering the art and style of the series. But that proved me wrong, I like the plot very much it negated the negatives into positives.

Kuragehime, or Jellyfish Princess is set on a dorm which consists of only female otakus. You got that right, FEMALE OTAKUS! And they strictly keep it that way.

"The Nuns" is what they call themselves, for being cursed with unpleasant faces and weird hobbies. They seclude themselves iin the real world and call attractive ones "Hipster" or "Sylish". Therefore, they hate them for being cute.

The dorm consists of six female nerds. Banba - the train otaku, the dorm manager - a japanese doll otaku, Mayaya - the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" otaku, Jiji - an anglophile?, Mejiro - a famous BL mangaka, and Tsugumi - the jellyfish otaku. They were once internet friends who decided to live together for convenience.

Their tranquil life would've had continued if it wasn't for him...

Yes, that's a "him". Unfortunately, his name wasn't revealed yet, only his surname Koibuchi. He's a serious cross-dresser who helped Tsugumi in saving a dying jellyfish in a store.

He's become a troublemaker since he showed himself again at the dorm. Its kinda sad that this situation actually happens in real life, such when underprivileged people detest someone because of his/her wealth.

Feeling sorry for what he has done, he gave a lot of Matsusaka beef as an apology to the dorm.

Matsusaka Beef is a special kind of beef that is used in sukiyaki because its very tender yet very expensive to the commoner's eye.

Mayaya spouting some Romance of the Three Kingdoms reference. Sorry I can't relate to anything she says. All I know is that this is a game from the PS2 Console.

And Tsugumi, she reminds me of a girl in a noon time spanish soap opera in the past, I think it was Betty la fea - translated as Ugly Betty. Notice the freckles, the perm hair, the disheveled eyebrows, and the red, distinctive framed eyeglasses. LOL

Baka Kynte: Wanted Author!

Apparently, LoliComplex wanted to drop Otome Youkai Zakuro because it's too shitty he do not want to continue the series, so now he want some good series to be blog and I suggest him to post Kuragahime instead of me, so he'll do Jellyfish Princess from now on. Let's support him. Heh.

Kuragehime - Episode 01

If you're looking for some anime with no pantyshot, cleavage and fan-service Kuragehime is definitely for you. The story is about a girl that look like Ugly Betty who wants an oral arm(jellyfish)because it bears some likeness with laces the princesses dress, I mean,a beautiful cross dresser and a bunch of nerd female otakus. No! seriouslly! Oh, Okey, I'll be serious. The story centers around Tsukimi Kurashita, a huge fan of jellyfish (kurage, a wordplay on the "kura/mi" and "tsuki/ge" in her name) and a girl who moves to Tokyo to become an illustrator. She moves into "Amamizukan," an apartment complex that is full of fujoshi (diehard female otaku) with a no-men-allowed rule. However, one day, Tsukimi invites a stylishly fashionable woman to stay at her room at Amamizukan — only to discover that the guest is not who 'she' seems to be.

Let's make some background check shall we. I was surprise, I thought Kuragehime is just an ugly anime adaptation of some weird manga but I was totally wrong! Kuragahime won this years, Kodansha Manga Award for the best shoujo manga. The same award had won by Kimi ni Todoke in 2008. So, I guess this is really worth of blogging. Evil smirk.

Kuragehime animation has plenty of reference and parody of some animes and movies. Like the opening song, well that's pretty obvious, you can see Star Wars reference .. a James Bond reference ... the Calling reference, it looks Metal Slug aliens for me though ... you can see Kill Bill as well.

Tsukimi Kurashita, an average girl, a huge fan of jellyfish, an aspiring illustrator live in an apartment called Amamizukan with lotsa Hardcode Otaku Nerds, well not all of them. Just like what I've said awhile ago she does have some resemblance of Betty from Ugly Betty, those untrimmed eyebrows, her pimple marks, unfashionable dress & hairstyle, dirty shoes ... I wonder if she has flab. - Bah! that's just too horrible, I feel sorry for her especially when she go to Shibuya pursuing her dreams and everything around her were so beautiful and sparkling and when she look at herself she see ugly only her ugliness. She even got called Nerd for the love of god. Being labeled as nerd is like 'you're one hell fucking ugly slug'

The Jellyfish could be moe sometime. Yes, it's true, don't you feel moe of her? she's cute and adorable but if you got sting by the oral arms or sorta you'll get poison and die eventually. Cute are deadly remember. Ok that's just too random. So, yeah, Jellyfish are indeed cute on this anime.

Haaaaaaaaaaayyyydeeeeeee ohh!! Haaaaaaaaaaayyyydeeeeeee. Ah yeah. I sing the song of Heidi. I mentioned it already that there's some parody of some animes here. One of them is Alps no Shoujo Heidi, it totally crack me up when the jellyfish said 'I could walk! I could walk' for the love of Poseidon! get this jellyfish back to sea!

The Mysterious Bishoujo comes! we have Mysterious Bishoujo over Ookami-san, we have Galactice Bishounen over Star Driver and now we have Mysterious Bishoujon-nen (shoujo 'girl' , shounen 'boy'). Kuranosuke Koibuchi is actually a guy who love to cross dress as a woman. Frantically speaking I totally do not understand guys who love to dress like women. If you'd try to ask them why do you love cross dressing they will just answer because we love men to drool over us. So, therefore, I conclude that all cross-dressers are indeed faggots!

Impression-wise, yes this is really good series with 11 episodes. I like the character illustration. I could sense that there will be lots of character development over here. Can't wait to see Ugly Betty to go henshin into a beautiful young lass.

Oh, come to think of it ... Ugly Betty can be be face-off to Kirino since both of them are nerds in nature! Just random thoughts~
